Hey! Notice the new blog design!? Compliments of my “kid”, Jonathan Gicewicz, owner and master designer (I’m not just saying that) of J.E.G. Design. Now, I know what you’re going to say. Maaa… But that’s my kid who designed this blog and many more websites, logos and brochures. He’s got a knack for conveying, through design, just what his clients need to look professional on the Internet and in print. That’s my kid, how cool is that?
Jonathan is an artist, I like to think he got it from me, but he has accomplished all this on his own. He’s creative, mega-talented and works well under deadline pressure (typically not an artist’s trait).
I remember when he was in high school taking art from a talented artist and gifted teacher, Karen Rosasco. Mrs. R’s (Rosco’s Place) class requirement included having a significant number of sketches completed per semester. I suspect JonBoy may have waited (as I usually did) until the last minute and in an act of desperation began duplicating images in his sketch book from posters hanging on the walls in his bedroom. I recall one image in particular, showing a person, bent in half with head inserted into his buttock, caption reading, “Your Problem is Obvious.” Mrs. R in her own gentle way noted this was “not appropriate subject matter.”
After high school JonBoy headed to Vermont to attend Green Mountain College majoring in of all things - art. He’s been living and working in VT since then. The pace and lifestyle seem to suit a creative type like Jon.
And that’s how it all got started. These days J.E.G. Design produces very appropriate subject matter! Check it out! Thanks JonBoy!
